The Deputy National Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress Joshua Hamidu Akamba says he is ready to endure any ‘harassment’ from the police as he sacrifice to improve the lots of the Tempane SHS students who are enduring hardship as a result of the Free SHS policy.
” If they’ll{Police] sacrifice me for the children to be liberated, I’m fine. I’ll seek to achieve that and overlook the troubles I’m going through now; they’re not important to me. What is very crucial for me is to help ease the predicaments of the school children because I’ve been having nightmare since I encountered the troubles of these young ones.
He believes his woes since that viral video that captured him allegedly inciting the SHS students up-north against government’s free SHS policy is just mere tactics by the ruling government to tame him.
“I have heard NPP members saying I should be tamed, but what they should remember is that they won’t be in power forever. For me, even if we’re in power or not I don’t encourage Police harassment,” he said.
The youth wing of the party has slammed the NDC official and described his action as reckless and irresponsible.
Mr Akamba who is seeking to take over the national organizer position on a campaign tour of the Upper East region visited a secondary school in the Tempane constituency where he admonished students to reject President Akufo-Addo in 2020 because he is the cause of the changes they are faced with.
Mr Joshua Akamba made the children show their bedbugs bite scars to the cameras, promising them their headache will be over by 2020. Asking them if they will vote for Akufo-Addo again after the bedbug bites, they all screamed “Nooooo!”
A statement, which was signed by Nana Boakye, the Youth Organizer, called for the head of Mr Akamba.
‘’This irresponsible, repulsive, reckless and unpatriotic act clearly flies in the face of the Ghana Education Service regulations that forbid active partisan politics on the campuses of Pre-Tertiary Education Schools.
Akamba is expected to report himself to the Garu-Tempane Police today, October, 08, 2018 to assist in Police investigations over the matter.
Meanwhile, the Upper East Regional Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES), has directed the headmaster of the Tempane Senior High School, to hand over the running of the school to the directorate with immediate effect.
The directive follows a visit by the Deputy National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to the school last week.

The children have bedbugs today, bugs who have even bitten this Akamba Joshua before and perhaps, are even still biting him, and you don't have a solution to the problem-simple insecticide or fumigation, but they should wait till you come to power in 2020???...lol. If you don't have a solution today, for bedbugs-insects, then when will you have a solution to bedbugs when you come back to power in 2092 or thereabouts. Akamba and Mahama do not seem to be the sharpest knives in the drawer and it's pathetic.
Bed bugs have been in our schools since colonial days.... why is John Ford Mahama and his team taking this NDC flagbearer election as if it is a national election?
If Nana is a believer in freedom of speech he should intervene. If not I believe he orchestrated the removal of the innocent headmaster. Bawumia went to schools and distributed Gari. Was the headmaster sacked? Let us get serious. Government is a timeline position. Who knows if the headmaster will one day become a president.
I just want to know if those students are ndc delegates? if they are not what business has that cow to go there?he was just expressing his ***barred word***. In fact Northerners in the ndc are disgraceful and shameful. They've degraded the respect Ghanaians were beginning to have for them, ndc politics is very dirty and we Ghanaians will see to it these primitive people never get access to our government! How can this Akamba be near our seat of government? are we serious as a nation? John mahama is a f0000**000l !
The Tempane secondary did not receive it's status as a non paying school during the Akufo Addo's regime. Its students have been enjoying free education since osagyefo's time. So whatever challenges that they are facing cannot be linked to the recent free shs which now covers the whole country. Mahama's presidency precedes that of Akufo Addo's and yet he did nothing to ameloriate the suffering of the students. It saddens me if I hear such personalities speak against free shs because they have been recepients of this programme. Only one word can describe their behaviour: SELFISH
If u are campaigning within ur party how does that help u being in a secondary school? So u prefer the "progressive" where others will sit at home and people like ur kids will be in school. So are we saying until free SHS there were no bed bugs in the schools come on stop being petty and grow up,
have not seen a northerner foo.l like that
Internal election of NDC has nothing to do with the childish address given to the children. One cannot estimate when people like this ape grow in politics.
