The Deputy Minister of Information, Pius Enam Hadzide has explained how the fugitive CEO of Menzgold Ghana Limited, Nana Appiah Mensah got a now-famous photo opportunity with President Akufo-Addo.
According to Mr Hadzide, Nana Appiah Mensah popularly known as NAM 1 was part of a 10-member Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Confederation African Football (CAF) delegation that paid a courtesy call on Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House in Accra.
The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service on Thursday declared NAM 1 a wanted man over the operations of his gold dealership firm Menzgold.
The Police also revealed that they have requested for a Red Notice from the International Police (INTERPOL) making NAM 1 a wanted man in 194 countries.
Speaking in an interview on Okay FM Wednesday, Mr Hadzide said the picture which has been circulated widely on social media platforms was taken after that meeting between Akufo-Addo and CAF President Ahmad Ahmad.
He said the President discussed Ghana's intention to host the 2018 Women's AFCON with Mr Ahmad.
Mr Hadzide who was the then Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports explained that NAM 1 was included in the delegation because at the time, one of his company's Zylofon Cash was the headline sponsors of the Ghana Premier League.
He said any assertions by political opponents that the picture convinced people to sign onto Menzgold Ghana Limited investments was unfortunate because it suggests that the customers lacked the apparatus intelligence to decide on where to invest their monies.
He said some mischievous persons have sought to create the impression that the President endorsed the business of Menzgold during a visit to the company.

even if he met NAM1 one on one, how on earth should that convince anybody to take give their monies to him? How? I can't think far. those victims saying that they were convinced about the guy bcos they saw him in a picture with some leaders are making me angry. the problem is when greediness takes over your brain, you lost everything including common sense. NAM1 is a smart cr1m1nal and planned his scam very well. just hope that the security agencies are not even playing with your minds with these so called arrest. why didn't they arrest him immediately the issue came out? they helped him to take with him whatever he can lay his hands on and ran away. fear politicians. they are part of the scam. it is time we wake up and start beating these politicians. this is not the time to say i am npp or ndc. it shd be about everyone.
Ahg, all these be Kwasi Nyantakyi legacies ooooo yet our presidency has pressed no charge against him. Any way my president is a clearing house. Kwasi Nyantakyi , CLEARED ! Now you see
When did NAM1 starts his business in Ghana, Ghanaians today are mature enough to fall for this cheap and basel3ss concert party propaganda coming from the NDC
Hon Minister gye wo hom ai. How can anyone in his/her right sense say because he/she sees someone greeting the President he/she should invest his/her money in the person's business. This is total weed!!! I mean ruuuuuubish
When did NAM1 start his operations in Ghana? When did Akufo-Addo become President of Ghana? Menzgold customers, if you really want your monies, warn the politicians from making political capital out of your predicament. Otherwise, you will all lose your cash in the long run when politics takes over the law forcing MAM1 to pay you. My humble advice. Take it or leave it.
@ Billy should know that he and his NDC can convince the gullible followers who need FREE SHS to open their orison to believe their THRASH! Is Mahama GAY after meeting with Andrews Solomon, the gay activist?
This Hadzide guy is liar. He should have been dismissed when his issue came up. Kwesi Nyantekyi (a.k.a operation 5:3:1)took 'Enam 1' to see Nana Addo. 2020 when Hadzide is back at home he will tell the truth.
