Member of Parliament (MP) for Yapei/Kusawgu, John Jinapor has expressed worry over the shooting incident and violent attacks that occurred at the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election.
Speaking to host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' prgramme, John Jinapor blamed the government for failing to protect the electorates during the election.
He recounted some details of the incident claiming some armed men under the guise of being members of SWAT had entered the private residence of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary candidate contesting the Ayawaso West Wuogon seat to cause mayhem.
They fired gunshots at some innocent members and supporters of the NDC, he noted, without any provocation from the party faithfuls.
John Jinapor lambasted President Nana Akufo-Addo as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces for not condemning the violent acts.
He swore that such incident will never happen in his constituency, stating categorically he "will not tolerate this in my constituency. Let me make it clear that, in my constituency, I will never tolerate this kind of situation . . . it will never happen in my constituency”.
