The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has debunked reports that they disrupted a meeting between the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) with the National Peace Council by inviting its Chairman.
After the meeting which took place on Tuesday, the NDC condemned the police-CID for inviting their National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo to its headquarters.
According to reports, Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo after the call was advised not to go in the middle of the meeting; but do so afterward.
However, speaking in an interview on Wednesday’s edition of the ‘kokrokoo’ programme, Chief Supt. Appenteng Baffour, Deputy Director of Operations, CID and lead investigator in Ofosu-Ampofo's leaked tape saga debunked the allegation, describing it as shocking.
“It is never true we called Ofosu-Ampofo to come . . . we informed his lawyers that we needed him on Monday. So we were expecting them on Monday. I never called any of them; I never talked to anybody. So it’s never true that he was invited in the middle of the meeting. Moreover, I didn’t know about the meeting until his lawyers told me . . . so I accepted for them to come afterward,” he said.
Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo and his lawyers, therefore, reported to the CID headquarters after the meeting.

A KIND OF CHURCH ELDER ALWAYS TELLING LIES AND PLANNING TO UNLEASH HAVOC.
So he went to the CID with his lawyers eventually that day?! So when was the invitation extended?! Ghana Police and lies!!
ndc think they are smart they are seriously hurting their credibility but they don't, the party is full goons
Im so surprised the NDC still thinks they can ride on lies to power...Ghanaians are too clever for these kindergarten tactics.
I'm amaze if Mr. Apenteng's statement is true. Certainly we the listeners often do not know who to believe when it comes to issues involving politicians. However, for some of us who have had the privilege of working under the 2 major political parties at privilege position know who is telling the truth, and certainly i believe majority of Ghanaians know it too. Often majority of Politicians think they are the only wises persons on earth, and that all others believe what they come to say. What they do not remember is that proposals, memos, letters, reports, technical advise, etc are prepare by the same people they come to 'lie' to when they are on the radio/TV/Social platform. Supposing without mentioning name that a political party 'lied' his/her way into power, must the other 'lie' to the people always for political expediency? So apart from the politicians, all others, do not discern, reason, evaluate, assess, weigh or think through, right? As always, WHO IS DISTURBING THE NATION?
The NDC guys are big-time liars. Very soon, they are going to make their Pentecost elder's police case one of the conditions to proceed with the vigilante dialogue. They are preparing the grounds. They've been exposed. When such crimininals govern, what else do you expect? Common honesty seems like rocket sience for them. Terrible characters!
ARE YOU SURPRISED, NDC IS A LYING PARTY.
