A former Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Koku Anyidoho, has said there must a conscious mindset revolution in dealing with perennial floods in the country.
He wants Ghanaians to say no to politicians and start a civic revolution since politicians take a huge chunk of the blame for not putting in place the needed structures to control floods and play dirty politics with flooding.
“Ghanaians should begin to start some kind of civic revolution in this country, and if we leave this thing for politicians, this country will not go anywhere. I am a politician but this Ghana does not belong to politicians, it belongs to all of us and so let’s wake up and say we are tired of politicians and ignore them,” he said on Adom FM Friday.
Some parts of Accra got flooded again on Friday morning after a heavy downpour that started Thursday evening. The rains subsided around 3:am on Friday with some parts of the capital flooded. An alert by the Ghana Meteorological Agency has predicted more rains in many parts of the country on Friday.
Commenting on the development, Mr Anyidoho wondered why local authorities mandated to ensure sanity in the country had done nothing to curtail the problem.

Koku, start and we’ll follow. You guys only reason in opposition, the vote scare won’t allow you to make the right decisions for all of us. No you know how it feels. When men in position refuse to do the right things.
Ei koku I though you are bonded to be of good behavior and you are talking about revolution. What do you meant by civil revolution? Explain before I forward your speach to the CID.
Koku take the lead and your NDC people will follow you. When you were eating sixteen balls of Ga kenkey with full fried guinea fowl, you thought the whole world is yours. Now you are unemployed below the age of 50.The stolen money will soon get finish for you to face the realities of life.
Massa, you are now unemployed and so you can shout. What did you do about flooding in Ghana when you were the second in command to late Prof. Mills and you could sack managers by radio announcement ala military style. Now that your own Ndc has disown you, you want to start a small revolution with the little that is left of your loot. Instead of advising that people should stop throwing garbage into the waterways, you're advocating for a revolution. Go and start at your Dubai Circle and check the number of people who will follow you
