Former Deputy Communications Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC),  Fred Agbenyo has bemoaned the difficulties Ghanaians are facing under the ruling Akufo-Addo government.

“There is so much hardship to the extent that even plantain is now expensive,” he indicated.

He was speaking on the back of the ‘Kum Yen Preko’ demonstration which was organized on Tuesday.

Thousands clad in red on Tuesday joined the Coalition for Social Justice (CSJ) for a demonstration against what they described as hardship, insecurity and oppression experienced under the current Akufo-Addo administration.

Speaking during a panel discussion on Peace FM's morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, Fred Agbenyo said there is the need for government to ‘do the right’ thing to reduce the pressure on Ghanaians ‘instead of giving excuses and attacking the NDC’.

Wow. So I have a few plantain trees in my backyard. I’ve had them for about 4 years now. Even if I didn’t know it before planting them, I surely know now that plantain is a seasonal crop. One of them flowered in late June. Four others in the last two weeks. So the earliest I’ll get to harvest one is in September the rest in October and so on. Same with the ones in the market. They are off-season so naturally they are few and therefore expensive (same demand, less supply = higher prices). I thought Fred Agbenyo would have enough brains to know that. Either that or he’s intentionally deceiving us. Did I hear that he’s from Akpafu near Hohoe which is a farming area? I guess he wasn’t particularly observant as a boy.

Fred, plantain is a seasonal crop, stop throwing dust into people’s eyes . NDC way of politics is outdated and archaic, propaganda has has no place in modern politics, people are becoming more enlightened and discerning

Instead of planting you re, on the street demonstrating, food don't just come to market oo. Ghanaians are getting lazy and lazy everyday and still expect good stuff. Easy way of getting stuff that is NDC for you. NDC took petrol @ Gh6 and handed over @18 jan4 2017 and yet complaining about hardship.
