The National Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammi Awuku, has described the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as a bunch of liars who would stop at nothing to peddle falsehoods about the current administration.
Sammi Awuku was of a strong view that the NDC, in a desperate attempt to run down the Akufo-Addo government, have set an agenda; hence embarking on the “Kum Yen Preko” demonstration on Tuesday, July 9, 2019.
Thousands of activists and sympathizers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) turned up in their numbers to partake in the “Kum Yen Preko” protest organized by Coalition for Social Justice (CSJ), a group with strong leanings to the opposition party.
They cited unbearable economic hardship and oppression under the current Akufo-Addo administration as reasons for the demonstration.
But commenting on Peace FM Morning Show “Kokrokoo”, the NPP National Organizer indicated that the NDC has no clearly defined message for Ghanaians and so will stir agitations about the good governance of President Nana Akufo-Addo.
“...the opposition has every right to demonstrate but must be credible in terms of their alternatives,” he said.
Mr. Awuku also touted achievements by the government under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo recounting he “went to Axim and Western Region last month and the fisher folks commended government for utilizing the process of the premix in their best interest. They also commended President Akufo-Addo for tremendous result after the close season period, completion of three kilometers out of Five Sea Defence Wall in Axim and landing beaches for the good people of Western Region”.
