Deputy Minister for Information Pius Enam Hadzide has disclosed that the government will send an official delegation to commiserate with family and relatives of the dead missing girls in Takoradi.
Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' program, he explained that the government sends its condolences to the bereaved family and that at an appropriate time action will be taken soon.
He, however, appealed with Ghanaians to desist from politicizing this issue and share in the grief of the families in these hard times.
He said the security of Ghanaians continues to be paramount to the government and that Ghanaians are urged to cooperate with the police in ensuring the safety of all.
He also urged the police to continue with their work in ensuring the safety of Ghanaians as government also provides the necessary equipment to support them in their activities.
The Ghana Police Service has confirmed that the four missing girls in the Western regional capital Takoradi are dead.
The Acting Inspector of General of Police, James Oppong Boanuh said at a press conference Monday, that the results of the DNA test on remains retrieved in Takoradi have been relayed to the families along with condolences.
A family member who spoke to JoyNews said, the results given to them shows the tests are positive.
The girls Priscilla Blessing Bentum, 21, Priscilla Mantebea Koranchie, 18; Ruth Love Quayson 18, and Ruth Abeka were victims of a kidnapping and murdering syndicate in the Takoradi area, the IGP said.
The police boss bemoaned the inability of the service to obtain “accurate and actionable intelligence” in “good time”. But he said the arrest of the alleged kidnappers has “effectively” thwarted the ability of the syndicate to continue their murderous spree.
The main suspect, a 28-year old Nigerian, Samuel Udoetuk Wills was arrested in the Western region, John Orji was arrested at the Aflao border while a third, only known as Chika was arrested in Nigeria.

I don't agree on that because the parents are disrespectful and think somebody must be responsible for their girls outing but not them. I don't know who they paid to keep watch on their girls movement and I don't know if they informed the police those girls were visiting that Nigerian guy! who should take the blame if you allow your kids to hangout with strangers and are killed do you blame government for your own negligence? did the guy pick them up on the streets? according to the tenants in the house girls were visiting thst guy every now and then so how would one know how your kids got into his hands? I don't think he kidnapped them they went to him on their own will because he told them he will help them travel abroad and he seduced them and killed them how do you blame somebody for that and show disrespect and arrogance? these are no small kids who couldn't fight off this tiny Nigerian foo00*00l or scream for help !There is something seriously wrong with we Ghanaians instead of asking questions we are rather sympathizing with people who don't even care and are showing disrespect and arrogance like these girls movement were being monitored by the state! who told them to make friend with a Nigerian who was deceiving them? that woman who said she refused to talk to the president should also come out to tell us what her daughter told her about the guy like the other family who has confessed the guy promised to send their girl abroad which means they knew the guy so how does kidnapping come in? her negligence and bad parenting has caused the death of her girl so she should give the President a break! Bad parenting has consequences and that is not the job of the government they are being just compassionate and sympathizing with you and don't deserve the arrogance and impunity that you people are showing! They should pay for their own 2nd independent DNA that shouldn't be the burden of the state if they don't trust the police DNA and will not accept they should pay for the 2nd DNA by themselves! and Ghanaians should stop entertaining irresponsible parents actions. "YES" I've said it why them of all the girls in Sekondi-Takoradi !
