In a bid to put Ghanaians mind at ease and to somewhat bring the CSE debate to an end, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo says his administration does not intend to go against the norms and values Ghanaians holds so dear.
President Akufo-Addo, in a brief address at the St. Cyprian's Anglican Cathedral at Asem in Kumasi said: "we have no plans as a government to do anything that contravened the norms and values of the society".
Ghanaians have for the past days been battling with the ruling government over reports that it intends to introduce homosexuality to children through the Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) curriculum.
Christian and Islamic clerics, as well as civil society organisations and Ghanaians on social media expressed outrage about reports that the inclusion of CSE into the curricula was to promote LGBT.
Ghana’s Minister of Education, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh refuted claims that CSE has been introduced into the curricula of basic schools.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, 1 October 2019 he said: “the curriculum framework (KG-P6) approved by the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) for use in the development of school curriculum, which has been approved by Cabinet and published does not include CSE”.
However, this didn't cool down the fire in people's hearts.
On Sunday, 6th October, 2019 President Akufo Addo added his voice to calm nerves saying his government has no intention of introducing CSE.

FAKE FAKE FAKE INSINCERE PRESIDENT
Nana says Gay and lesbianism is bound to be legalised in Ghana so we r giving him close marking and watching his every move.Nana return the gay money!!!!
How did something rejected by cabinet finds its way into the 2019 budget and other official MoE/GES documents? Dishonest and arrogant leaders who cannot say sorry. Just as we rejected the parliamentary chamber, you are heavily exposed in this one too. You can pay the media to do your bidding but the masses are losing trust in your kind of dishonest leadership. The day of reckoning would definitely come.
Government should have reacted a long time ago instead of allowing this mess to continue. Don't allow the NDC to draw agenda for NPP.
This is a bad report. The President rather endorsed CSE within cultural appropriateness and assured that there should be no fear of LGBTQ
If it were political talk against ndc he and barwumia would have given lectures. But this important issue he could only make one simple sentence of it.
Nana addo is a mess. If I were the president I will rather say emphatically that I have asked and instructed the education and health ministries to cancel any CSE policy. Then we know he means business. Any ediot can say, he will not do anything to contravene the norms and culture of our nation. Action is louder than words. Are we not here when same president commissioned EMILE SHORT COMMISSION and after their report, he rejected almost everything in the report. Same man who say vigilantism should be abolished, supported the slapping of an MP and disallowed the prosecution of a lawbreaker. Is such a person to be trusted?
Time to put what stop to what. Until all printed curricula on the CSE are completely burnt to ashes no one takes the clearing agent serious. This has always been his modus operandi. When the horse had bolted from the stables that is when he always want to come and use deceptive tactics. If Ghanaians have not been vociferous on the rejection, he would have still stood by his BOUND TO HAPPEN mantra. Learn from Professor JEA MILLS.
O Jofue agbene!!! Like you will see!! If its bound to happen, who will make it happen???
I think its time to put a break on this issue and concentrate on more important ones. I find it rather hypocritical of some opinion leaders who keep dragging it while ignoring other social and religious belief which have let to many of of the so called men of God milking the poor and the vulnerable all in the name of God. Hypocrisy indeed.
