A Member of the Mines and Energy Committee in Parliament, Hon Moses Anim, says Ghanaians should be ecstatic that the country is not facing any power fluctuation aka ‘Dumor Sor’ despite the PDS saga.
Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’, the law maker told host Kwesi Aboagye that, the Nana Addo-led government's intent to abrogate the power concession agreement with Power Distribution Services [PDS] is to save the country’s purse.
This notwithstanding, he said, "the country is enjoying an uninterrupted power supply" – something he want Ghanaians to be grateful for.
Ghanaians woke up to the news over the weekend of the planned abrogation of the suspended PDS contract by government.
A letter dated 18 October 2019 and signed by the Finance Minster Ken Ofori-Atta, indicated government's intent to have the deal terminated.
According to the statement, "following consultations with Government, we wish to emphasize that Government remains strongly committed to the compact and private sector participation in the Electricity Company of Ghana.
"We also wish to reiterate the position communicated to the CEO of the MCC by the President of Ghana during their meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on September 23rd to the effect that, the current concession had to be terminated in view of the facts uncovered regarding the failure by PDS to satisfy conditions precedent under the relevant transaction documents AND, however, that every effort would be employed to ensure a suitable replacement within the relevant timelines in order to complete the compact," portions of the statement read.

I am beginning to realize that the way this government is struggling with the roads, they couldn't have found a solution to the dumsor as Mahama did. They would have blamed their ineptitude on past governments. It is obvious
These guys paaaaaaaa, either they are ignoramuses or extremely ediots. So the fact that dumsor is no more means Ghanaians should keep quiet for nana addo and his family to dupe Ghanaians. You we fighting Mahama for Karpower and other badges he brought to solve dumsor. Today, what are you talking about.
