Executive Director of the Danquah Institute, Richard Ahiagbah, says the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama misused the opportunity he had to serve Ghanaians as president.
He said John Mahama therefore does not deserve another chance to lead the country.
According to him, the former President superintended over the retrogression of the country.
Mr. Ahiagba in a Citi News interview said the former President has nothing new to offer Ghanaians.
“Objectively, he is actually the cause of why Ghana will have to talk about foundation building again because from when former President Jerry John Rawlings left office and when President John Agyekum Kufuor took over, the foundation building was done. Up until when former President Kufuor left office, the economic foundation for the take-off of this country was laid. But somehow, former President John Dramani Mahama took this economy and run backward with it. So, we have gone back to where we left eight years ago,” he said.
John Dramani Mahama is Ghana’s first president in the 4th Republic to lose an election after the first term in office.
Although he lost by almost one million votes in the 2016 general elections to the ruling National Patriotic Party, he is leading the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to the polls in the next general election in 2020.
Despite this, many stakeholders in government are questioning his chances of winning though the former President has called on Ghanaians to give him a second chance to restore hope to them.
During the launch of the NDC Manifesto Committee, he described the current government as a sinking ship thus the need to rescue Ghanaians from the government.
He also stated that he has learnt his lessons and wants Ghanaians to bring him back to give them hope stating that based on his experience and the useful lessons he has learned as President, he is the best person to take Ghana to the “promised land”.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I have been there, I have experienced it, I have learnt useful lessons, I have reviewed issues and events, and I am coming back to you, together with my party, the NDC, with what will be a practical strategy for laying a solid foundation for the transformation of our country. We are coming to give you hope and address your challenges because we feel your sufferings; and we believe in opportunity for all, not just for a few as we are witnessing today,” he said.

MR. MAHAMA GOVERNANCE IS NOT A TRIAL AND ERROR DEAL.
Mahama and his team are weak and small dreamers. They can only accomplish projects with over 80% physical structure and 20% soft(brain work). The NDC team is just cut out for that.Overpass, hospitals, airports etc are projects they can easily tackle and complete.Any social intervention project with 80% soft structure and 20% physical structure will slip through their fingers. This explains why they donot have any social intervention project to their credit. What Ghana needs now is Industrialization and social interventions to whip up the energies of the youth for economic growth.Bringing NDC now will kill the momentum of the good works NPP government has started with credible results to show. We shown all tone down on 'we are suffering' and think about the future growth of our dear nation. If you are suffering under this economy(save the sacked bankers)then it means you suffered severely under President Mahama because the economic indicators then were not better.Banks are chasing customers with loan sales with interest rates between 20% and 24%.If we cannot put our dreams on paper(Business Plan) and access credit to accomplish our dreams then we have no business pointing accusing fingers at anybody. We should be bold to stand in front of a mirror give the middle finger to the image opposite.Resourcefulness not resources is the game changer.Insulting the President,NPP and everybody(apart from your good self) will not change your circumstance.Complaining and Excuses are sure litmus test of people without goals. Let us all stand up and push tougher circumstances a heck back and achieve our goals. Nana Addo and NPP deserve 4 more years!
The phoney Danquah tribalism group doesn't deserve to exist
We now know your true colours; I used to think this Institute was an independent Think-tank but they have clearly come out as an extension or puppet of NPP. They are a big disgrace and should better be classified as a vigilante group affiliated to the NPP! Who are you to decide who deserves or does not deserve another term? Let the people of Ghana decide that.
Akufo Addo is rather the one who DOES NOT DESERVE ANOTHER TERM. HE HAS FAILED GHANAIANS COMPLETELY. WE WILL SURELY VOTE HIM OUT. We are suffering whilst he and his family are ***barred word***.
