National Democratic Congress [NDC] Member of Parliament for Builsa South constituency, Dr. Clement Abasinaab Apaak says government must meet the demands of aggrieved teachers and desist from ‘playing politics’ with teachers-government issues.

The three teacher unions, the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers (CCT) are currently embarking on a strike over demands for payment of legacy arrears.

Dr. Clement Abasinaab who was speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show described the strike as “worrying” – but indirectly blamed the Akufo-Addo government for the unfortunate action.

“When you take over governance, you take over assets and liabilities. Government officials are rather provoking teachers with their utterances,” he said.
