The Gamey & Co ADR Centre has to mediate between the Electoral Commission (EC) and the opposition political parties on the proposed new voters register which has generated controversy and political tension in Ghana.
The organisation is of the view that if not handled with care and professionally, the impasse would disturb the peace and security of Ghana.
A statement issued and signed by the Chairman of Gamey & Co ADR Centre, Mr Austin Gamey said: “We offer mediation as our corporate social responsibility to mother Ghana and trust that the Electoral Commission and the concerned parties who are interested in a peaceful electoral process would accept the mediation intervention.”
It added: “As a result of the position taken by the Electoral Commission and the opposing political parties on the proposed new voters register, controversy and political tension has been generated in the country and if not handled with much care, the impasse has the potential of disturbing, the peace and security of the nation.”

When the then opposition was clamouring for a new voters register, Austine Gamey was not in Ghana, right? What mediation is he talking about? I'm certain the EC would treat this with the contempt it deserves. The Ndc knows where the courts are if they feel agrieved period.
All Organisations and individuals should leave the EC to do it’s mandatory work without any disturbances especially John Mahama should be made to swallow his own words saying “LEAVE THE EC TO DO ITS WORK “ NDC can never dictate the pace for the EC period. Nothing will happen and no one can attack the EC then there will surely be National Security Interventions
What mediation is this man referring to? The EC is an independent body and does not need to involve it self in such needless mediations.
The day EC goes to this "mediation" will mark the end of the proposed registration exercise. Let's not forget that this is mot a matter that requires your standard mediation process. In the essence, the EC only accords political parties a modicum of respect by engaging with them on its programs. When that courtesy is disregarded, the ensuing disagreement should not be elevated to the level that requires "mediation". You don't mediate a situation of tantrums at the home. You apply the disciplinary measures, Mr Austine Gamey.
