The NDC MPs immediately after the National Anthem was sung in Parliament during President Akufo-Addo's 4th State of the Nation Address (SONA), walked out repeating a line in the anthem: "and help us to resist oppressors rule with all our will and might forevermore".
However, former President Jerry John Rawlings and his wife, former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings who were present in the House sat through the session.
The question on the minds of critics is why the former President who is the founder of the NDC did not join the minority in their walk out.
The Minority at a press conference on Thursday answered the question.

If I had to mark NDC for their performance and contribution to the political party-politicking in terms of its importance in the dispensation of democratic governance, I would give it a good F, which is a poor fail. The opposition doesn't mean fabricate and exaggerate stories to make your opponents look bad so that you win the electorates to your side. I do not want to believe that the NDC believes that Ghanaians are less intelligent to buy into that. It is indeed an insult for the NDC to tow that line because it seems that, it is a singular act they can best do, what else? I'm very much interested to know the credentials that fetched Ofosu Ampofo the job as the NDC-Party Chairman. To date his astute as a party chairman is abysmal. With respect to the former President not taking part in the walk-out, I will say only a ***barred word*** doesn't change.
You can't equate President Rawlings with the MPs
