The President of TESCON at the University of Ghana, Martin Abdallah, has challenged the NDC MP for Bolga Central, Albert Adongo, to an economic challenge.
Mr. Adongo wants to challenge Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to an economic debate, but Abdallah feels the lawmaker is no match to the astute economist.
“In the past few days, your braggart-self was at a full gear when you challenged the venerable economic wizkid cum Vice-President of the Republic, Alhaji Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia. As you may be in the know, the plate of Vice-Presidential duties is almost always full and that will not serve the Vice President the luxury of comfort for such an encounter.
“Dr. Bawumia is preoccupied and fully neck-deeped in his aged-continuance effort to partner His Excellency President deliver on the transformative policies, projects and programmes of government. Thence, in the stead of the Vice President, I WELCOME AND ACCEPT YOUR CHALLENGE to debate you on the unprecedented economic gains recorded under the Nana-Addo led NPP government,” Abdallah said in a statement.
Below is the full statement unedited.
OPEN LETTER TO ISAAC ADONGO: I ACCEPT THE CHALLENGE TO DEBATE YOU ON THE ECONOMY, I HOPE YOU WON’T CHICKEN OUT
I hope this letter finds you in good health and spirit. I must apologize for conveying this message to you through this medium. If I had any other practicable and convenient channel of communicating with you, I would have graciously explored it. Accept my sincere apologies if you are discomfited by my resort to public engagement through an open letter.
In the past few days, your braggart-self was at a full gear when you challenged the venerable economic wizkid cum Vice-President of the Republic, Alhaji Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia. As you may be in the know, the plate of Vice-Presidential duties is almost always full and that will not serve the Vice President the luxury of comfort for such an encounter.
Dr. Bawumia is preoccupied and fully neck-deeped in his aged-continuance effort to partner His Excellency President deliver on the transformative policies, projects and programmes of government. Thence, in the stead of the Vice President, I WELCOME AND ACCEPT YOUR CHALLENGE to debate you on the unprecedented economic gains recorded under the Nana-Addo led NPP government.
Mr. Adongo, let it never dawn on you for a nano-second that Dr.Mahamudu Bawumia is your coequal in the discipline of economics. Need I remind you that while you were still struggling to obtain your degree at the University of Ghana Business School in the late 1990s, Dr. Bawumia was already an astute PhD holder for years from the University of British Columbia, Canada?
I wish to inform you that with my little degree of knowledge in economics as a final year student of Economics at the University of Ghana, I have readied myself to debate you on the economy. Sir, I can bet you with my bottom cedi that your self-serving and skewed thoughts on the economy will not pass you any basic macroeconomic paper at Legon.
Mr Adongo, On this note, I hereby submit myself to all terms and preconditions that will facilitate the debate between you and me. I can assure you that if you succumb to this challenge, like Goliath met his David, you( Isaac) will meet your Matin. I hope that you will not chicken out of your own challenge. While I wish you plentiful years in opposition, I look forward to your speedy response. Thank you.
Martin Abdallah, President, UG-TESCON

***barred word***boy
Most NPP guys including Bawumia are lairs. if BAWUMIA has balls he should come and tell us lies again before Adongo. If Bawumia actually understand Economics he should come and debate Adongo and lets all see and am very sure he Bawumia weill be exposed by his wrong information. We have seen so called heavy waights being knocked by underdogs and Bawumia case would not be different. God is watching you this very wicked NPP under Nana Addo.
I THOUGHT THE VICE PRESIDENT HIMSELF IF HE IS CONFIDENCE IN HIMSELF WILL ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE TO FACE ADONGO FOR ALL GHANAIANS TO SETTLE THEIR MINDS AND KNOW THE TRUETH. ALL THIS POLITICAL ECONOMIC CONCERT WILL COME TO AN END. YOU ARE SAYING THE MAN IS BUSY BUT HAS FULL TIME TO GO SIT AT TOWN HALL MEETINGS FILLED BY MOSTLY NPP FANATICS AND PRAISE SINGERS SINGING FROM THE SAME HYM BOOK. I WILL FIRMLY CONCLUSE THAT THE VICE PRESIDENT IS AFRIAD OF HON ADONGO HE MUST BE A MAN ENOUGH TO ACCEPT THIS FREE BATTLE FOR ALL TO SEE WHO IS WHO. I HAVE SAID MANY PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY ARE NOT SEEING ANY MAJOR CHANGE SINCE MAWUMIAH PROMISED HEAVEN ON EARTH. PRICES OF EVERYTHING IS SHOOTING UP. YOU DRIVE TO A FILLING STATION TO BUY FUEL AND YOUR HEART START BEATING YET THE MAN WHO BOLDLY SAID HE HAS ARRESTED THE CEDI IS STILL TALKING BIG. AT ONE POINT I THOUGHT HE WAS NOT IN THE COUNTRY. HE IS VERY VERY LUCKY THIS CHINESE SICKNESS HAS COME TO BAIL HIM OUT TO DROP THE CEDI LIKE THE CEDI WILL BE AROUND 9 CEDIS BY NOW. I BELIEVE HE SHOULD BE BOLD AND FIND A LITTLE TIME TO MEET ADONGO AND LETS SETTLE IT ALL THAN LEAVE IT TO PARTY PEOPLE WHO WANTS TO BE HEARD TAKE SIDES TO COVER HIM OTHER WISE THE VICE PRESIDENT SHOULD HOLD HIS PEACE AND NOT BOTHER US WITH ANY MORE ECONOMIC JAGONS. GHANA IS GETTING OLD ITS PAST PENSION LETS ALL GROW AND STOP THIS.
Nigeria has reported first case of coronavirus, Ghana should should not brag of cedi stabilization. The government would not have put together 40 citizens to arrest the situation if the almighty fundamentals were right We should not be myopic , please think of the future and stop the political none sense. If its in Nigeria then its obvious the shiit is in Ghana, just that it has not been officially reported. There is no Galamsey in Nigeria but in Ghana. Chinese travel back and forth with Ghanaians. As a country we should try and find solutions instead of official report. Let us wise up and stop the political gimmicks. The VP did nothing to stabilize the cedi which is a fact. Also, we should not boast of any measures in place to stabilize the cedi. Solution and preventing the spread of coronavirus in Ghana is the key and not bogus and infantile discussions on fundamentals.
