Former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for North Dayi, Mr. George Loh, says he enjoyed the publicity he had after participating in the Electoral Commission's pilot voter registration exercise on Tuesday.
Famous person
In an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’, George Loh tagged himself as the “most famous” person in Ghana on June 2, 2020.
“The trending was massive yesterday. It was scary, I never thought of trending. I am sure music and movie celebrities will be so jealous of me yesterday,” he told host Kwesi Aboagye.
George Loh on why he participated in EC's pilot voter registration
There have been concerns that even though the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was opposed to the new register, it was preparing its members to get ready to register.
Social media went ‘gaga’ when Mr. Loh's ID card popped up after participation in the pilot exercise – many argued that it was a move which, was not in consonance with the position of the NDC.
But on NEAT FM on Wednesday, the NDC activist maintained that his participation in the exercise does not run contrary to the party's stance.
Mr. Loh, who is currently the Volta Regional Vice Chairman of the NDC, disagreed with the suggestion that his action was hypocritical to the party's position.
