John Dumelo has said that he is confident of winning the Ayawaso West Wuogon seat with a vote margin of 54%.
Dumelo, who is the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the constituency, said he stands a big chance of winning.
He said, contrary to views that the seat is a safe haven for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), the NDC has closed the gap in recent years.
The 35-year-old noted that Ayawaso West Wuogon is not as safe a seat for the NPP as other traditional strongholds like Bantama, Ejisu and Mampong.
“I disagree with people saying that it [Ayawaso West Wuogon] is traditionally NPP. We won in 1992 and 1996 but we have come close to winning it, especially in 2012. In 2004 and 2008 we came close to winning it,” Dumelo said on Citi TV’s 'Face to Face'.
“This is not like some Bantama seat, or a Mampong or an Ejisu seat that we know to be traditionally NPP. The Ayawaso West Wuogon is a seat we are going to win. I am not going to win it, it is the NDC that is going to win it.”
Responding to the percentage margin he expects to win with, Dumelo swiftly replied: “a margin of 54”.
The actor cum politician faces a huge task as he aims to unseat the incumbent MP for the constituency, Lydia Alhassan.

you! you go shock. Dec 7th will let you find your smoothness level.
And you think that place is Ketu south right concert party
This guy Dumelo is one of those inexperienced incoming politicians who think by virtue of their relationship with those in power in the NDC and a little popularity as artist or campus mock politicians qualify them enough to be an MP or a Minister of State. In fact, there are a whole lot of such personalities in the NDC who abysmally fall short of competence to make any headway in real politics. At the end of the day, they desperately tend to politics of insults and childish propaganda solely geared towards their critics, and political opponents to curry favor for political appointments. When they ostensibly succeed the appointments, they fail abysmally as Minister of States.
Neither is it Ketu South
Just go away. The elections have not even come yet, and people are already tired of you. If systems were working well in this country, characters like you should have been in jail, not walking around and even hoping to get elected to go to Parliament.
If that is what you are saying then let me refer to you, that place is also not Volta Region. You will SURELY LOSE come December. You will have the most shock of your life. Stop tickling yourself. Go and look for a script and act please. That place are for men and women and not for boys and girls.
