Okay, I never wanted to run this commentary, but Dr Dominic Ayine's admission on #Newsfile that the NDC legal team actually had a hand in Asiedu Nketiah's faux pas came jumping out at me.
While it is proper and indeed honourable to acknowledge and congratulate the NDC legal team for mounting this legal challenge, it is equally important to state that they goofed badly with Asiedu Nketiah's misleading claims just after the verdict.
Indeed, the circumstances that led to Asiedu Nketiah's massive embarrassment after the Supreme Court ruling is a clear indictment on the legal team.
The fact that the legal taam couldn’t even take their time to read a whole judgement delivered by the Supreme Court before proffering advice on the matter, and in the process getting the party humiliated in such a clandestine manner says a lot about the leadership paralysis that the NDC finds itself in.
Where are all the senior Lawyers in the NDC? Is the NDC as a political party led by Ofosu Ampofo not interested in the services of tried and tested legal brains in the party?
How can a party that boasts of lawyers like Tony Lithur, Tsatsu Tsikata, Fui Tsikata, Samuel Cudjoe, Nana Ato Dadzie, Dr. Raymond Atuguba, Dr Ben Kumbour, Larry Adjetey, Marieta Brew Appiah-Oppong, Dr. Bassit Bamba, Alhaji Huudu Yahaya and many others settled on a relatively junior lawyer to face the Supreme Court in such a high profile political case that require lawyers of higher pedigree and experience? Is the NDC leadership not aware that seniority plays a major role both at the bar and the bench?
I'm old enough to remember how the Supreme Court Justices in the 2012 election petition case were jokingly asking why Tsatsu Tsikata and Ayikoi Otto don’t want to come join them on the bench. It wasn't just because of their brilliance, intelligence or the compelling legal arguments they espoused, but you could clearly see the camaraderie between them. This was a clear case of monkeys indeed playing by sizes. And that's exactly what I am talking about here.
I hate to be the one to point this out, but NDC Leadership failed in its responsibility in the choice of legal representation on this matter. The tendency to carry nail clippers to a gunfight ought to stop, and it ought to stop now.
As much as I would love to see the NDC move back into the Jubilee House - there's nothing about the actions, inactions or pronouncements of leadership that point Ghanaians towards a direction or path that would inspire or galvanize the population to follow their undefined pathway irrespective of people's reservations.
The party appears leaderless right now - rarely has there been a more pertinent example of lions led by a donkey than in the NDC.
I persistently and regularly warned the NDC to change the strategy being deployed against the NPP government but leadership wouldn't badge. The constant self-righteous and often rankly hypocritical rage and the screaming isn't working. We're are all seeing the results.
My message to the party today remains the same: the party need to stop shrieking and stop virtue-signalling. The NDC must stop pandering to ridiculous political correctness, and provide Ghana with a vision for the future that resonates better than what the NPP is offering.
It shouldn’t be difficult to do this given the state of the country. But all I’m seeing is NDC committing political suicide.
God save the king!!!
Okay, I never wanted to run this commentary, but Dr Dominic Ayine's admission on #Newsfile earlier today that the NDC...

@Ama,you are one of those who are slowly extincting NDC without knowing, gone are the days of patapaa, bugabuga, intimidation and violence.Today, everything is smartness, rule of law, brain power and respect for listeners. So far as NDC and their communicators deliberately refused to see this, and keep on with propaganda and hail uninformed, insults and weak-minded crooks, discerning Ghanaians will keep them in opposition for good.
Ama if you really understood Dela's article you would have nade a better submission than what you've just done. You and most NDC supporters seem to think the revolutionary bugabuga way of doing things are still relevant in our body politics today. You lot have failed to realise that Ghanaian by nature hate disrespectful and loud mouthed people. They respect people with brains who can make their case and argunent devoid of insults, screaming and propaganda. Ofosu Ampfo is not making NDC a Pentecostal church. It is your NDC that has failed to change and adopt to the new ways of thinking of the ordinary Ghanaian. NPP do things using the law so they have no fear because their actions are often backed by law, NDC ***barred word*** and rave without applying logic and common sense. The days of intimidation and putting fear in people is gone and gone for good. No competent person or group will rely on fear and intimidation to get their message across. It did not work with National Identification card and did not work with new voters register. You are gradually becoming a laughing stock in out party politics.
Ama, if you think Ghanaian fear ndc, you must be joking and laughing at wrong side of your mouth. Ghanaian are civilized and live by reasoning. Ghanaian will use their common sense to defeat you and you can see. Your party is now becoming non entity and very soon will sink into oblivion. Your day are numbered, you've been exposed, all the intimidation, fear and killings over the years are coming back to hunt you. The party is cursed, by the killing of judges, soldiers, generals, civilians will hunt you down until your party no longer wins any elections in this country. After all when you win power, it is either corruption, mismanagement, incompetence, and ***barred word***. Shame on you.
I never like you but for this, you are 100% right. The NDC won the electoral petition because their legal team was extremely solid. I don't understand why ofosu ampofo is making NDC a pentecost church. He is playing everything too soft. This new register wouldn't had come on had we elected some strong willed radical chairman and general secretary. There is no fear of the NDC no more. How on earth can someone like jean mensah defeat Rawlings' revolutionary NDC? Simple, we now have weaklings leading our party.
