PNC General Secretary, Atik Mohammed has slammed political figures gloating over the challenges with the ongoing registration exercise, calling on them to refrain from such habit.
Atik cautioned such people to desist from having political ''orgasms'' over the Electoral Commission (EC), stressing getting excited because the Commission is confronted with challenges will not translate into votes for them.
He cautioned them to stop predicting doom for the electoral management body.
"There's no capital to gain from exaggerating challenges, getting excited over challenges. It will turn into votes for any person. Say it anyhow you want but it won't make someone vote for you because of that. You can laugh over the alleged beating of Electoral Commission officials, that will not translate into votes for you.
''Let's quit trying to exaggerate. Let's quit trying to introduce things which do not exist, just so we will create an impression that the Electoral Commission has failed. Oh, they have brought chaos. They have come to kill people. It won't help any person. Gloom and doom-mongers; we just monger gloom and doom that it won't succeed. There's chaos; I mean what do you gain from this?"
He called on the doomsayers to rather assist the EC saying ''Electoral Commission works for us. So, if they're having challenges, it is our responsibility to help them solve them. Not to gloat and get orgasms over their challenges. It doesn't help anybody. Some of them speak as they have had to have orgasms because there are challenges at the various registration centres''.
