The National Organizer of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Yaw Asani Tanoh seems angry at President Akufo-Addo and his administration over a number of issues including the much-talked-about Electronic Transfer Levy (E-levy).
The levy has generated a lot of discussion since its introduction and even implementation with a number of Ghanaians withdrawing their monies to avoid paying the 1.5 percent.
Asani Tanoh who was contributing to a panel discussion on Neat FM's Me Man Nti programme, questioned why President Akufo-Addo didn't listen to other good suggestions which would have replaced the e-levy and in the end cushion Ghanaians, especially in this "hard times".
"We have given you areas you can make the money from; we said seal the loopholes at the various ports but because they are the people in charge of the port, they will not touch them...because they're shareholders of the telcos, they will not touch the place. We're telling you that we have diamond, gold, bauxite and everything; tell the foreign investors that we're getting 50 percent or more if they don't like they can go...you know e-levy is a regressive...go this way so that we know you're cushioning us rather you're allowing foreigners to get the upper hand on your people"
"...They should amend their ways...we elected you to come and serve us and not for us to serve you; hoarding money...where is the 507bn. Lies upon lies. This man (Akufo-Addo) will go down in history as the worst President ever...Nana yεnka masεm why"

What has this guy done in life or achieve in life? Yet he talks anyhow because our press give him a space to spew insults on people who are doing their very best to build this country. I guess you give this guy a chance to contribute, you will take bribes and ignore his work. May he does not pay for electricity and his house is illegally connected to electricity yet talks anyhow. Disappointing and pathetic soul.
Ghana is now something else. Politicians talk as if they are the only knowledgeable ones with sense and all nonpoliticians are senseless. Lets be truthful and appreciate the economy. If any of the past governments have faced such a world of covid-19, Russia Ukraine war, increasing oil prices, bad attitudes of Ghanaians towards everything Ghanaian and many more like the current one Ghana would have been like he'll fire. Give Nana Addo and his government some credit because they overly deserve it
Good arguments for your comments, but let us come to think of it, we have two biggest political parties who have both ruled this country, one came through coup before accepting democracy, they sold all our companies through their mismanagement and incompetence, they so sold our biggest gold mining company’s 98% to foreigners without having a vision for future generations will ask for development, and today they are the ones telling us to put the government that is solving their great mess, to create jobs, whilst whenever we give them the opportunity, it’s all about create, loot and share, even Sagleme housing project, they only completed 668 and nobody can habitat for them due to many missing equipment that is not fixed.
Some Ghanaians are ungrateful, you think is easy to even managed your small household, 57billion from where? Talk is cheap. I hope your family members are not enjoying free shs, who is to pay for the cost? You should be ashamed of yourself
"We're telling you that we have diamond, gold, bauxite and everything; tell the foreign investors that we're getting 50 percent or more if they don't like they can go..."BUT aint you the same people saying Atiwa forest should be preserved and mining is spoiling our river bodies?
