General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu, has disclosed that former Presiding Bishop of the Obuasi Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana, Rev. Bosomtwe Ayensu had a 'mental illness' making him not qualified to become the Chaplain General of the Ghana Police Service some years back.
"First of all those he was competing with for the post were ahead of him in terms of ranking, secondly he had medical records of a slight mental illness . . . I have evidence to that, and you know hospitals keep medical records for about 10 years and scrap it otherwise you could have crosschecked at the Police Hospital . . . that is why they didn't give him that position. So he wanted Prof Mills to use political power to help him and the late Mills didn't do it . . ." he told Kwame Nkrumah, adding that due to this he angrily resigned from the Police Service.
According to him, the NDC know the history of Bishop Bosomtwe Ayensu.
". . the NDC and the Methodist Church do not have any problem, but rather we have a problem with Bishop Ayensu as a human being, we will not allow him to let us have issues with the church . . . henceforth we all know that he is an NPP member and doing the work of the party . . " he explained.
Speaking on Okay FM's Ade Akye Abia programme, he explained that Rev. Bosomtwe Ayensu has a longstanding hatred for the National Democratic Congress ever since he was denied that position.
Commending the Methodist Church Ghana for distancing itself from the conduct of one of its own, Asiedu Nketia explained that despite the litany of vitriolic attacks launched by him against the party and some of its leading functionaries, it is a fact that several leaders of the NDC have been and are still devout members of the Methodist Church.
“Notably, President John Evans Atta Mills and Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, both of blessed memory were members of the Methodist Church in good standing until their passing.
“Similarly, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the immediate-past Running Mate to the Flagbearer of the NDC in the 2020 General Election is also a member of the Methodist Church,” he revealed.
Background
Rev Bosomtwe Ayensu, launched an unprovoked attack on former President John Dramani Mahama, over his recent pledge to ensure the immediate repeal of the E-levy law when the NDC assumes the reins of government.

Until characters such as this malnourished NDC ***barred word*** become extinct in our body politics, the development of the nation will continue to suffer
If these words are coming from a kingpin in the NDC, why should we take the whole party serious? twiaaa ...the #ndcisnotanoption #thealternativeisempty
Ei so these NDC folks will not stop attacking people, even men of God ? But did the bishop say anything wrong ? hmmm This clearly shows that #ndcisnotanoption
If Asiedu Nkatia and the NDC are saying the Methodist Bishop is mentally sick because of the genuine comments he made, then there is a serious cause for alarm to arrange the whole of the NDC before a psychiatrist for diagnosis and treatment. The whole of the NDC opposition party politics is based on propagating lies against its political opponents, and any intelligent individual who does not fall prey to those falsehoods and diabolism becomes an enemy of the NDC. And he is treated with contempt, demoralized by insults of all kinds and disrespect. I bet only iddiootts will vote for such a political party to govern them.
No surprised. That's the NDC for you. They insult and try to gag any dissenting views against them. Yet they turn around and accuse another party and government of culture of silence. In power, Kojo Twum Boafo insulted a Presbyterian Moderator for expressing his views on the governance of Mahama. Pastor Mensa Otabil was insulted and vilified led by Kwakye Ofosu. Several Chiefs have been insulted by these babies with sharp teeth and elders of ........... Ghana is for all of us and not for the NDC alone!
Why should right thinking Ghanaians be surprised with this creature Asiedu Nketia's drunkard talks. He described one of their own who decided to contest candidate Mahama for the NDC leadership also as someone with ***barred word***. Maybe it's time someone takes him to court.
How can you talk like this and still expect Ghanaians to vote for you to come to power? If you can say things like this in opposition, then one can only imagine what will happen if Ghanaians make the mistake of voting for you people. Don't you know the bishop also has his followers? Will you dare ask those followers to vote for you after saying this? Sometimes it is very difficult to understand these characters. Anyway not surprising. You called your own party founder, who held your hand to become a general secretary, a barking dog. NDC is not coming to power anytime soon, so better retire now.
ASIEDU NKETIA YOU ARE JACKASS, A ***barred word*** INMATURE, A GUY WHO PLAY POLITICS IN GHANA YET HAD HISWIFE AND KIDS IN CANADA IF GHANA IS GOOD OR IF YOU WANT GHANA TO DO WELL YOU CANNOT BE TRUSTED YOU AND YOUR NDC GOONS. AGAIN WHEN YOU ARE SICKARE SURE YOU WILL RUN TO CANADA. THAT IS THE SAME THING BABGIN IS DOING WHEN HE NEED MEDICAL ASSISTANCE HE GO TO DUBAI IF HE WANT GHANA HOSPITALS TO BE GOOD. THAT IS WHY GHANAIANS SHOULDN'T ALLOW NDC IGNORANCE TO LEAD THE COUNTRY BECAUSE THEY WILL RUINE IT. ASIEDU NKETIA'S WIFE PAY HIGH CANADIAN TAXES, SUCH AS PROPERTY, EMPLOYMENT TAXES, TAXES FOR EVERYTHING YOU BUY, UTILITY TAXES SUCH AS WATER, HEATING,HYDRO, ETC YET HE WAS PREACHING AGAINST E-LEVY WHAT A ***barred word*** LOOOSER HE IS CRAZY AS MONKEY. NDC SHOULD STOP CONDEMING THIS MAN EVERY GHANAIAN HAS A RIGHT UNDER THE CONSTITUTION TO SPEAK HIS MIND AND NO ONE HAS THE ORDACITY TO STOP HE OR SHE.
And some id!ots are shouting that the media is under attack in Ghana...... when a whole Gen Sec of a leading political party can speak from his ***barred word***. You NDC guys will remain in opposition till Christ come.
Ah! Even for you this statement is below you! Where are the media watchers! Some press freedom indeed!
