Bernard Allotey Jacobs, former NDC Central Regional Chairman, says Ghanaians should refrain from blaming President Nana Akufo-Addo for all their economic woes.
According to him, the President is a victim of something that has long piled up from the history of Ghana.
He explained that President Akufo-Addo has unfortunately inherited corruptible practices that Ghanaians have allowed to fester for years, resulting from their own actions and behaviors.
Speaking to host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" programme, Allotey Jacobs pitied the President saying "we have heaped a mountain and it has fallen on the current NPP government. Most unfortunate! We sowed a bad seed from generation to generation which is corruption, bribery, whatever and watered it to grow bigger under Nana Akufo-Addo's government".
"Nana, I pity you; I'm sure he doesn't sleep!!", he exclaimed.
He, however, called on the President and his appointees, particularly the Finance Minister, to take tough decisions to resolve the economic challenges of the nation.
"It gets to a stage we should hold the bull by the horn to make sure that we survive as a nation...Let us have a local solution to what is facing us now," he asserted.

Ken Ofori Atta was adjudged Africa best finance minister in May 2018 and there's no way he would be asked to resign or fired. No one sells the hen that lays the golden eggs.
Allotey jacobs, it's not true. The man is seen openly sleeping/ snoring at public functions , the sits on chairs and sleep so when he gets to bed what do you think will happen? He sleeps well, well . If you think there are any so called politicians in Ghana who have sleepless nights because of this country, you may be dreaming. Ghana's so called politicians represents nobody but themselves. They are only hiding under the cover of democracy to dissipate state resources. Nothing more, nothing less. That's why they tell you with all these mess they have brought onto the people of Ghana democracy is still far better than military rule, with democracy once you vote them to power irrespective of the quantum of loot you have to wait for 48 months to boot them out and they carry their loot home.
Really, if it's true Akuffo Addo doesn't sleep, then his inability to sleep is self inflicted. If your finance minister is also the transaction advisor anytime government goes for a loan from which the transaction advisor gets a percentage then it stands to reason that some of the the many loans government went for were needless but because someone is assured of his percentage he goes in for it, the president can have a good sleep if he can take charge. Right now he's the president on paper but practically nobody seems to be in control. What Akuffo Addo is currently facing sounds like this " If your mother is dead and keep saying she's sleeping, when mothers are bringing food to their children, we will know who sleeps on a hungry stomach ". From the very beginning you were cautioned to slow down with some of your needless expenditures but you won't listen. Now Russi and Ukraine have become the national anthem of Akuffo Addo and his appointees, these countries are mentioned more than a thousand times everyday, now when the president speaks nobody takes him serious, you just look at him and laugh . If you are now assuring Ghanaians that you will turn things round and bring the economy back on track, is it after the Russia and Ukraine is over? Nobody knows when or even if the war is still on, if you know how to fix things in a war situation, then why blame Russia and Ukraine war on Ghana's current mess? All these is self inflicted, just cross into Burkina Faso, they are not facing such hardships like Ghana is currently experiencing, remember they don't have cocoa, timber, crude oil, arable lands and secured territory, terrorist groups are on them but their economy is far better. If you buy a drum of diesel in Burkina Faso, you will save GHC 800.00 compared to Ghana.
