Kwesi Pratt Jnr. says it is unfair for the Police to investigate Professor Kwabena Frimpong Boateng on his allegations against the Presidency.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has tasked the Police to investigate the former Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI) for accusing the seat of government of being involved in illegal mining.

Prof Kwabena Frimpong Boateng accused some top government officials of engaging in the canker, popularly known as ‘galamsey’.

He disclosed; “There was an orchestration within the party and the government to get me out and when I left galamsey activities increased. Now things are coming up, and we know those who are doing galamsey even within the party and even people at the Jubilee House.”

But the Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper has slammed the President for tasking the Police to probe Prof. Frimpong Boateng's allegations.

Kwesi Pratt asked why no investigations were held during a time that Professor Frimpong Boateng was placed on the chopping board by some government officials and political characters.

He noted that Prof. Frimpong Boateng was a victim of ridicule and his reputation was attacked by some political functionaries while he was a Minister.

"We all in Ghana have heard a lot of bad things said about Professor Frimpong Boateng. While his name and reputation are being dragged into the gutters, no one called for investigations and remove him . . . Now that he is also accusing others, you are going to do investigations. Where is the fairness? If this man had not spoken, his name and reputation would have been ruined," he told Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's morning show "Kokrokoo".
