Mr. Charles Opoku has been elected as the Parliamentary Candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Assin North by-election on June 27, 2023 at the Assin North constituency of the Central Region.
Charles Opoku polled 397 votes as against his only contender, Freeman Amoah-Kyei's 136 votes.
Three ballots were rejected.
This means, Charles Opoku will battle it out with the National Democratic Congress's James Gyakye Quayson.
Charles Opoku is an electrical engineer at Goldfields Ghana in Tarkwa in the Western Region.
The 40-year-old is a native of Assin Bereku.
