Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen has quit the New Patriotic Party again but this time not to rejoin the party, rather to champion a new wave in the political climate.
Feeling bitter about his defeat in the 2007 presidential primary, Alan, in 2008 resigned from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) but later came back and during both the Kufour and Akufo-Addo regimes, he became a Cabinet Minister.
Alan Kyerematen, popularly called 'Alan Cash', today, September 25, announced his decision to contest the 2024 elections as an independent candidate and revealed he has resigned from the NPP.
He intimated that he is going to lead a new movement called the "Movement for Change" and recounted what this movement seeks to achieve.
"The brand logo for the MOVEMENT is the Monarch Butterfly, which politically symbolizes change and transformation, hope, and positivity. It also communicates strength, endurance, spirituality, and trust, which are key traits that I cherish as a Political Leader. In Akan, it is known as Afrafranto," he said in a press conference.
He added; "The brand motto of the MOVEMENT is “Ghana Will Rise Again,” which symbolizes hope for the future of Ghana."
To him, "the new Movement will be led and powered by the youth of Ghana".
Alan Cash therefore presents himself as the new force for change, stressing "what Ghana needs now is CHANGE, which will provide long-lasting solutions to the challenges confronting our country".
