Two honourable members from Ghana's parliament shocked thousands of viewers when they openly exchanged some unpleasant words live on TV over President Nana Addo Dankwa AKufo-Addo.
The unfortunate incident started when the Member of Parliament (MP) for Nhyiaeso constituency, Dr Stephen Amoah called his colleague MP for Ningo-Prampram, Sam Nartey George a liar.
The two were on TV3's Big Issues show to discuss President Akufo-Addo's State of the Nation Address (SONA) which was monitored by Peacefmonline.com.
Sam George was furious when described as a liar but quickly responded by saying the president is rather a serial liar.
He claimed the president lied about the number of self-employed SSNIT contributors, contrary to what John Ofori-Tenkorang, Director-General of Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), said about the numbers.
"I am a 39-year-old liar, but Akufo-Addo is a 79-year-old liar," Sam George furiously said.
In a swift response, Stephen Amoah said, "Pray to get to his age; it is a blessing."
The situation escalated with counter-attacks but peace prevailed when Stephen Amoah withdrew his statement.
However, Sam George refused to retract his description to the president claiming “Akufo-Addo lied in his statement.”
