The largest Opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has declared war on any attempt by the ruling New Patriotic Party to cleverly and surreptitiously rig the election in their favour during the upcoming December 7 general elections.
According to the NDC, they are watching keenly every movement of the NPP and are ever ready to foil every agenda by the party to capriciously overturn the will of Ghanaians.
The statement made by NDC comes on the heels of a recent statement made by the Agriculutre Ministger and Member of Parliament for Abetifi, Hon Bryan Acheampong’s comment where he stated that,
In an interview with Citi News, Deputy General Secretary for the NDC, Mustapha Gbande vehemently condemned the comment made by the Agriculture Minister, Bryan Acheampong.
"We will not burn the sea and I can assure Bryan Acheampong that the nonsense that they [his government] showed Ghanaians in 2020, a repetition of same will make people like himself victims of their schemes. Ghana will not die. Ghana will stay strong. Ghana will stay united.”
Mustapha Gbande added that, the NDC as a political party will identify and address any individual or group of persons threatening Ghana’s democracy ahead of the 2024 elections.
He said, “But we will fish out hoodlums and hot-headed people like Bryan Acheampong who are a danger and a threat to our democracy. I can give him that assurance that an inch of an attempt to do what is unlawful will be fiercely resisted and the persons who will be engaged will be singled out and dealt with.
“It doesn’t matter what it takes for us to do that. That will be done.”
