The running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, will on Thursday embark on a day’s tour of three main markets in Accra in the Greater Accra Region.
She will visit Mallam Atta, Kaneshie and Makola markets to interact with market women, traders, shop attendants, shoppers, kayayei, commercial drivers and passengers, among others.
During the tour, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang will explain the NDC’s women’s financial empowerment policies and plans, including the proposed establishment of a Women’s Development Bank.
About one million women in business, including food vendors, market women, bakers, hairdressers and dressmakers are expected to benefit from access to loans with flexible payment terms.
