The NPP Sweepers Group brought their Campus Invasion initiative to the University of Ghana, Legon, on Friday, 22nd November 2024, as part of efforts to engage young voters and secure their support in the upcoming general elections.
The day began with a vibrant outreach from Legon Hall, moving through Commonwealth Hall, Akuafo Hall and other residential facilities. Students came out in large numbers to meet the team, creating an atmosphere of excitement and engagement. The Sweepers facilitated interactive sessions where students expressed their opinions, concerns, and appreciation for the significant strides made by the current NPP government, particularly in the education sector.
The climax of the event took place at the Legon-Okponglo taxi rank, where the team was joined by notable NPP personalities, including the Managing Director of Precious Minerals Marketing Company LTD (PMMC) - Mr. Nana AkwasiAwuah, Esq., and Madam Lydia Atiemo. They delivered stirring addresses, emphasizing the importance of youth involvement in national development and political decision-making. They highlighted the achievements of the NPP government, including improvements in education, technological innovation, and job creation, and urged students to rally behind Dr. MahamuduBawumia and their local parliamentary candidates.
