Multiple award winning African gospel artiste Sonnie Badu has been invited to participate in the much anticipated fashion show dubbed “Rhythms On Da Runway” at the Golden Tulip Hotel on Easter Sunday, March 31 at 7:00pm.
“Rhythms On Da Runway” will be headlined by Sonnie Badu with support from a host of some selected Ghanaian music icons who will perform alongside Sonnie Badu.
Sonnie Badu is regarded as one of the country’s most celebrated and influential worship leaders. He is best known for his energetic sound and colourful mix of contemporary African praise and worship with a style so diverse.
A number of fashion designers have also been invited to participate in the event being organised under the auspices of Kofi Okyere Darko’s Nineteen57 fashion label.
Some of the fashion designers to grace the event include Ophelia Crossland, Aya Morrison, Pistis, House of Agyeiwaa from England, Hats and Designs by Velma, Emma Bird Accessories and a host of others.
The talented singer who has carved a niche for himself in the gospel music scene and owns his own fashion line is expected in Accra from his London base on Thursday to join in preparations towards the show.
Sonnie Badu has, in the past couple of years, worn Nineteen57 by KOD designs for his live performances around the world. BEATWAVES gathered that Sonnie Badu is very close of Kofi Okyere Darko, aka KOD and is the godfather of his second daughter Nana Afriyie.
