Veteran actor Dan Tei Mensah has denied rumours that the Film
Producers of Ghana (FIPAG) has banned him because he is shooting his
own movie with some crew members who are considered as foreigners.
Nobody has said anything to me about ban or sidelining me. I just
spoke with Socrates Sarfo yesterday and he did not tell me anything
about banning me, so I dont know why these guys are cooking up
this rumoured ban. I have not been banned, he told NEWS-ONE on
Wednesday evening.
Dan is one of Ghanas veteran actors and has featured in a number
of Ghanaian movies. Among his movie are Shadows From The
Past, Without Her Concern, Wedlock, Ogboo Nana, Man-
Woman, Chelsea and a number of others. In all, he has featured in
over 100 movies from a career that started in 1985.
He has worked with Venus Films for the last few years and is now trying
his hands on producing his own movie. The upcoming movie, which title is not out yet, features stars like
Roselyn Ngissah, John Dumelo, Frank Artus and a few others.
It is being directed by Pascal Amanfo, whose works in Ghanas movie
industry for the past year won a number of recognitions.
Last year, Trinity, a movie he directed, won awards for Ghana at the
ZAFAA in UK. He has directed yet-to-be-released movies like Bed of
Roses and Familiar Strangers. He is also working on Roger Quarteys upcoming movie.
