The bad blood between award-winning Ghanaian director Leila Djansi and top actress Akorfa Adjeani Asiedu does not seem to be going away anytime soon.
Akorfa recently withdrew a law suit she had filed against Leila, seeking the courts to determine which of them owned the executive producer rights over a movie, I Sing of A Well. The two reportedly co-produced the movie, and just when observers thought the bad blood was over, things have taken a new twist.
Leila has challenged the reasons which Akorfa gave as her basis for withdrawing the case. She insisted the reasons Akorfa gave were not true.
Akorfa reportedly explained that she withdrew the case because Leila, the defendant, was always not available as she was always outside Ghana but Leila fired back at her over the stated excuse.
Information from Leilas camp say Akorfa withdrew the case on her own free will because she could not back her claims with facts.
The case has been going back and forth because she doesnt live here so weve had it with the lawyers weve been going back and forth with it. Its two years already, I have survived without that money, I can survive, Akorfa was quoted by myjoyonline.com.
The reason Akorfa withdrew the case was because she could not justify the $100,000 she claimed she spent on the film both ladies met with their lawyers and each team claimed it would provide receipts to prove expenses and ownership of the production. Leila did but Akorfa could not and she subsequently withdrew the case, the source disclosed to News-One
