Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG) have revealed that they are preparing to hit the streets of the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi to protest against the power crisis the country has being facing for almost three years now.
The association will lead a protest against the sitting government for failing to solve the power crises in the country.
PRO of FIPAG, Michael Kwaku Ola confirmed the looming protest on Peace FM's "Entertainment Review" this afternoon.
According to Ola the association started preparations about three months ago but due to 'dumsor' the event has delayed until they finally had the green light from the Ashanti regional police command.
He discolsed that FIPAG executives met the Ashanti Regional Police Command on today Thursday May 14, 2015 to seek their permission. He continued that the Police gave them the permit to hold the peaceful demonstration on May 28 in the Garden City.
The demonstration organised by FIPAG will start from Bantama and it would proceed peacefully to Adum for a 30-minute vigil.
“We will start from Bantama High Street through the principal streets of Adum and then we’ll converge at Post office.”
Ola used the opportunity to invite movie makers, actors and actresses, film lovers and the general public to join the protest against dumsor.
