Ghana’s best actress and performer Felicity Ama Agyemang popularly known as the screen goddess Nana Ama Mcbrown has stated that she is very happy for being nominated as part of the Favorite Actress category for the upcoming Golden Movie Awards.
Speaking in an interview with Flex newspaper, it was our desire to find out her expectation about the awards and she responded that being nominated even makes her a winner and even if she doesn’t win, she believes she stills stands as one of the best and favorite actresses in Ghana.
“It’s a good thing to be recognized and appreciated and I look forward for the best and to be a winner but if I don’t, I know and still will remain the people’s favorite and preferred actress and I appreciate very much,” she said happily.
The award scheme which was launched in Februarys this year to award outstanding actors and actresses form the following six African countries like Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania, Kenya, Zimbabwe and South Africa for their hard work and efforts in the movie industry.
The event which will be held on the 27th June, 2015 at the State banquet Hall in Accra will have 28 awards given out in an order such as, Golden Actor in Drama, Golden Story Drama (TV/Movie), Golden Actress in Drama, Golden Supporting Actress (Drama), Golden Writer Drama (TV/Movie), Golden Actor in comedy, Golden Actress in comedy and Golden Writer in comedy (TV/Movie).
Nana Ama Mcbrown has been nominated as the Golden Favorite Actress category as well as actress Yvonne Nelson, Ama K. Abrebese, Juliet Ibrahim, Nadia Buari, up against Tonto Dikeh and Uche Jumbo both from Nigeria.
The nomination list also had popular Ghanaian actors such as John Dumelo, Majid Michel and Kojo Nkansah Lil Win for the Golden Favorite Actors Award where they will be battling with Nigeria’s Jim Ike and Alex Ekubo.
The event is to help the project Ghanaian movie industry to the international front and to achieve excellence for the African movie industry as a whole as well as to motivate others to work harder to achieve a common aim in the industry.
