The MUSIGA president, Bice Osei Kufuor otherwise known as Obour, has applauded the NDC government for allocating Gh�2 million to revamp the music industry.
The Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor on Wednesday announced in the 2012 economic policy in Parliament that the country had a �vibrant creative arts industry that can be nurtured to create jobs and provide increased income to all stakeholders. �
In the MUSIGA president�s reaction the news was welcoming and that it was a long awaited development which would go a long way to transform positively the patterns of Ghanaian music.
Speaking on Citi FM�s Eyewitness News on Wednesday, Obour said his administration had forever pushed for such a move thus �it is rewarding that government has recognized the need to invest in the music industry. �
He said MUSIGA would use the monies to set up a committee that would assess the areas within the music sector that would need funding and renewal.
