Evergreen highlife musician Abrantie Amakye Dede, who was recently honoured for his immense contribution to the Ghana music industry, yesterday donated a set of musical instruments valued at thousands of Ghana Cedis to the Music department of Achimota School.
During the presentation, Amakye Dede said it has been part of his plans to assist the Music department of the school with musical instruments to help boost the image of the department.
Amakye, who promised to assist the school with other facilities, announced his decision to adopt the Music department and also visit the school on regular basis to train students who want to study Music.
The headmistress of the school, Mrs Beatrice Adom, who received the musical instruments on behalf of the school, disclosed that the school has produced a number of musicians who have contributed a lot toward the progress of the Ghana music industry.
She thanked Amakye for the donation and promised to put the musical instruments to good use.
