The much publicized April 20 Kojo Antwi concert in London, is off, the Highlife legend has announced. No new date has been announced, either.
In a Facebook status update on Saturday evening, he said he could not make it to the show “due to some challenges beyond my control”. “Please accept my apology,” he adds.
The announcement comes few days after Donaeo, one of the acts billed for the show told us he hadn't been contacted for the show, and that no one booked him.
FUSE ODG, who was also billed to perform, took to his Twitter page to announce he wasn't going to be part of the show, blaming it on the ‘unprofessional’ attitude of the promoters.
The Saturday April 20 concert would have been Kojo Antwi’s first in in 10 years in the United Kingdom.
The organisers promised a tasty blend of “Ghana’s highlife and Congo’s Soukous brewed in the African pot and spiced with elements of Carribean lover’s rock and African – American Rhythm and Blues”. It turns out all of that, have gone down the drain.
