Ghanaian born contemporary Opera singer Nino thrilled audience at the BEFFTA Awards (UK) with the best performance of the night.
According to patrons that attended the Saturday night show, Nino’s performance was simply phenomenal, one which will forever merit a historic feat.
Nino performed "NESSUN DORMA" literally translated as “none shall sleep” an aria from Puccini’s opera Turandot Live on stage and the audience eyes welled up in awe.
Nino has challenged himself to change perceptions by singing opera with a touch of contemporary African style in his own genre NUSLAM.
After the performance, patrons of the awards were on their feet for a deserving standing ovation. Others took to social media to express their appreciation of such a unique performance.
“It was really a night full of satisfaction and I thank God for that. Initially I was quite nervous about my performance as I was yet to fully recover from a sore throat. The crowd was amazing and I’m glad all went well" says NINO.
Nino returns to Ghana on 1st November to commence work with The National Symphony Orchestra for his Europe tour in March 2015 an event by Ghana Society UK.
