The No Tribe gospel music group will be in action on Saturday, November 29 at a concert at North Legon in Accra to announce the release of its new One God album.
The performance would also symbolise the official take-off of a collaboration with the First Atlantic Bank to raise funds for the training of instrumentalists for the music business in this country.
No Tribe has been around since 2007 and the group’s leader, Nana Kweku Osei, better known as Nacy, says the project to train intrumentalists at hugely subsidized rates is their way of giving something back to society.
According to Nacy, apart from contributing some initial seed money for the project, First Atlantic has introduced a No Tribe Loyalty Card which enables bearers to upload money and get discounts when they shop at specific places across the country.
First Atlantic will then channel some amounts of money from the No Tribe Loyalty Card promotion to the group’s music training project.
The No Tribe leader said they need to raise about Ghc500,000 for items such as purchase of instruments, rental of premises for training and instructors fees.
“We want to take on an initial number of 100 young people. They would be trained to play drums, guitar, keyboards and horns. No Tribe would absorb 70 per cent of the cost of the training,” Nacy said.
“The idea is to help young people become self-sufficient.
Government alone cannot solve the unemployment problem and this is what we can chip in to help.”
No Tribe’s plan is to raise funds through sale of the One God album as well as through live performances scheduled for regional capitals and major towns across the nation next year.
The No Tribe album release concert will be at the Charismatic Evangelistic Ministry (CEM) at North Legon.
Artistes billed to perform include OJ, Kwabena Kwabena, Ceccy Twum, KODA and Cwesi Oteng.
Kalybos and Ohuofe Patri will make special appearances. Emcee is comedian, DKB.
