The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has congratulated the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) on the successful conduct of their maiden elections on Wednesday.
According to a statement issued by the MUSIGA President Bice Osei Kuffour aka Obour, the elections heralds a new era in the music industry in Ghana.
Obour congratulated ace musician Kojo Antwi was elected chairman and the other board members made up of performers, producers and composers. The MUSIGA President urged them to work hard to satisfy the aspirations of the GHAMRO members.
He urged to them to tackle the pressing issue of getting the current crop of musicians to join and be involved in the activities of GHAMRO.
The President of the Union also commended the outgoing Receiver Manager Committee and the Administrator of GHAMRO, Abraham Adjetey for performing a yeoman’s job by publishing the audited accounts of GHAMRO, holding an AGM and supervising the elections which was in line with the mandate granted them by the Human Rights Court.
In all 10 directors were elected to lead the organization for the next two years.
