The Annual Mo Ibrahim Governance Weekend is set to take place in Ghana this year, and the plethora of activities lined up for the weekend marks it as possibly quite exciting.

A concert dubbed the ‘Free Concert’, is set to come on at the Independence Square in the capital on November 21; with a huge cast chosen to headline it.

Angélique Kidjo, Youssou N’Dour, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy and DJ Mic Smith are the acts set to headline the Free Concert. Yaa Pono, Fimfim, Ohemaa Dadao, Cabum , Kankam and Rashid Metal would also perform on the night.
The concert would be just one part in the tapestry of activities marking the weekend.

On Friday November 20, there would be a leadership forum honouring the 2014 Ibrahim laureate, His Excellency President Hifikipunye Pohamba, former President of Namibia; followed by the Ibrahim Forum, to be held earlier on the day of the concert.

And on Sunday, there would be a football game between African Champions TP Mazembe and a Ghana ‘Dream Team’.

The Mo Ibrahim Governance Weekend is organised by the Mo Ibrahim Foundation. The Foundation gives out the annual cash prize to African leaders, and holds many other activities of critical importance to the continent.
