Gospel singer, Evangelist Diana Asamoah has encouraged her colleagues to let other people with the gift of songwriting help with them with their lyrics.

According to her, even though some Gospel artistes find it shameful to say they don’t write their own songs, there was nothing wrong with it as she revealed that she had never written any of her songs.

“As for me, I love to speak the truth and the reality is that I don’t write my own songs but some artistes find it shameful to even let people know that others write their songs for them.

"Most of the songs on my first album including the popular Mabo Wo Din Na Mafre Wo were written by one Pastor Simon Boamah who is based in London.

“People were writing songs for even Michael Jackson, I’m saying this because not everyone has the gift. Recently, I heard a song and immediately, I went in search of it and did a worship version.

“Songs reach a wider audience than even preaching so if you are a musician and you don’t know the value of where God has placed you, you will desire to be popular by taking all the credit for it, which is where the confusion sets in,” she said in a recent interview with Fiifi Pratt on Kingdom FM.

The Anopa Wim singer encouraged her colleagues to seek help since the quality of songs being churned out lately was nothing to write home about.

Evangelist Diana Asamoah also disclosed that she loves to listen to Bob Marley’s songs because they were full of wisdom and better than most of the Gospel songs she’s been hearing lately.

“As I sit here, I must confess that I listen to Reggae songs, Bob Marley songs so that I learn some wisdom.

"This is because his songs carry a lot of wisdom but we all know that many of our Gospel music songs don’t even carry any messages. You can listen to a song and tell that it doesn’t need too much noise on it but well, that appears to be the trend,” she stated.
