American rapper Ace Hood has denied ever making the first approach to BET-Award winner Sarkodie when they worked on 2015 single "New Guy".
Reiterating his position on the controversy that has characterised how the song was composed since its release, Ace Hood says Sarkodie lied when he suggested that the former called him to work on the song.
Ace Hood was reacting to a video of a Starr FM interview of Sarkodie speaking about the song on Twitter. In the video, Sark insists that Ace Hood made the approach.
When asked by the host if Ace made the approach, Sark replies: "Yeah of course, mostly it happens the other way round when Africans try to get the attention of these musician".
Responding to the post, Ace wrote: "A lie smh. But I wish him well!"
It will be recalled that in 2015, Ace disclosed that the feature got done because he was paid $25,000.
The music video for the song (below) has generated over 1.7million views on YouTube. It was directed by Justin Campos from Gorilla Films, while its production was administered by his wife, Candice Lee Campos.
Much like the song, the two singers take turns performing their verses while standing in dark-coloured rooms.
Ace Hood appears without a shirt and stands next to Sarkodie while visual of female dancers performing choreography are randomly displayed.
Towards the end of the video, they appear outside wearing black and white suits; Sarkodie's T-shirt from earlier is shown and displays: "They got money for wars but can't feed the poor", which is a lyric from 2Pac's 1993 single "Keep Ya Head Up".
