Ms Carmen Bruce-Annan, Corporate Communications Manager of Zain Ghana, on Tuesday pledged the companys commitment to promote the socio-economic lives of the people as part of its corporate responsibility.
It is one of the major aims of Zain to touch peoples lives in the communities where it is operating by fulfilling its corporate social responsibility. We want to encourage our customers to be radiant by leading the way in imagination and vision, she stressed.
Ms Bruce-Annan was speaking at the launch of Zain Touch Lives a new television reality show on Tuesday in Accra.
She said the 13-week show sought to transform the lives of people living in deplorable conditions by offering them the opportunity to fulfil their life long dreams.
Ms Bruce-Annan said the programme would serve as a platform for individuals who had transformed the lives of people in their communities to share their story.
It is a show of giving back and we want to assist Ghanaians to recognise their full potential. It is about giving recognition to unsung heroes and heroines in the community and acknowledge the impact they made in the lives of people, she said.
Ms Bruce-Annan explained that for an individual to participate in the programme, he or she should be nominated by someone stating contact details, reason and the impact the nominee had made in a community.
This should be in writing to any Zain office or radio station in the country. Once we receive the entry, a panel will assess its merit and research about the nominee.
Ms Bruce-Annan said, the contest was open to the public and both the nominee and the person who submitted an entry would be rewarded.
Zain is always finding a novelty to reward its customers through the 3.5G network. she added.
Zain is a leading telecommunications operator across the Middle East and Africa providing mobile and data services to 64.7 million customers in about 24 countries.
Barely seven months of its operations in Ghana, has the company had more than a million subscribers.
