Audio Attachment:Listen to Reggie Rockstone as he explains why he prefers showing love to the people of Haiti than celebrating Val's Day in an interview with Kwasi Aboagye on PEACEFM's "Entertainment Review" Program. |
Every blessed day I tell my wife that I love her, so I dont see why I should celebrate Valentine, those were the exact words of Reginald Osei, nicknamed Reggie Rockstone, the hip-life Grand Papa, when the Entertainment Review Crew of PEACEFM, sought to find his views on Valentine and how he intends spending the day with loved ones.
I have never celebrated Valentines Day since I was born, he stated.
Speaking in an interview with Kwasi Aboagye, host of the program, the multi-talented award winning artiste, made it clear that the people of Haiti needed love the most and added that even though donations have been made by the Ghana government and some individuals and corporate bodies, it was still not enough.
For me, I prefer to show love to the Haitians than setting a day aside to be extra intimate with my loverI dont care about Valentine, he told Kwasi Aboagye.
The Grandfather of Hip-life suggested that Ghanaians should instead create something on their own, rather than celebrating what the western culture seems to have imposed on us.
Something like Odotine or any other name could be used in place of the so called Valentines Day to project our own values and culture, he opined.
Reggie Rockstone revealed that as his widows mite to help alleviate the suffering of the victims of the Haiti disaster, all entrance fee monies paid by patrons to his nite club (Reggie Rockstones Office) tomorrow, Sunday, February 14th, will be sent to World Vision International, a humanitarian organization on behalf of the United Nations, to be given to the Haitians.
People who patronize the nite club tomorrow should come with the intention of helping the Haiti victims and not for the sake of Valentine, he added.
