When top rapper and two-time Artiste of the Year winner, Sarkodie, went on air two Fridays ago to invite ready and available Ghanaian ladies to bear children for him, he did not anticipate that sooo many ladies would volunteer to do just that.
Barely fifteen minutes after Sarkodie had made the call on KSM’s Thank God Its Friday show on Metro TV, the phone began ringing and by the following Friday over 1000 calls had come through – all from ladies who were ready to have babies for him. Sarkodie had bitten more than he can chew.
“The calls came from all over the country”, the producer of the show, Ama Misa told Showbiz. “They came from Bolgatanga, Koforidua, Wa, Tamale, Accra all ready to get pregnant for Sarkodie”.
The discussion started rather harmlessly when KSM asked Sarkodie about his dating life following a statement he made earlier that he was married to his music.
The rapper answered: “I’m still married to my music but there is one thing I wish and hope for right now. I want to make babies, in fact only two babies”.
The TGIF host then asked how Sarkodie intended to make the two babies without getting married. Was he expecting to make babies with any woman who was ready to do that with him? The discussion went on a bit longer and soon, KSM released a contact phone number.
Producer Ama Misa said they knew that some ladies would call but they did not anticipate the large numbers. “We don’t usually keep records of the number of phone-ins we receive for our guests but I don’t remember any occasion we have been so inundated”.
Asked for his comment, KSM told Showbiz “I’ve been amazed at Sarkodie’s popularity and amused by the reaction of our lady callers. I am tempted to pose the same question to our ladies to choose who they fancy to have babies with – Prez Atta Mills or Nana Akufo-Addo, on the show!”
Sarkodie is currently in the U.S as a nominee for the BET Awards alongside artist Lira (South Africa) and Wizkid (Nigeria) for the Best International Act, Africa scheduled for Sunday July 1st.
