Highlife legend Abrantie Amakye Dede, with his High Kings Band, became the centre of attraction at Daily Guide's annual end of year bash last Friday night.
Amakye Dede, aka ‘Iron Boy’, thrilled the company’s workers and invited guests to a live highlife gig that saw him perform some of his biggest hits including ‘Akwadaa Wesoa’, ‘Iron Boy’, ‘Dabi Dabi’ , ‘Sokoo Na Mmaa Pe’, and ‘To Be A Man Na Wa oo’.
The musician was at his usual best and in his characteristic style got almost everyone at the party on the dance floor.
“I am an entertainer and I am aware that without the help and support of the media, I could not reach where I have reached. It is for this reason that when a media organization invites me to a function, I do well to attend to show my appreciation to journalists for all the support they have given me over the years,” Amakye Dede told News-One.
Last Friday’s event was the fifth edition of Daily Guide's annual end of year party. It was attended by friends of the newspaper, mostly persons from the media fraternity, entertainers, lawyers and politicians.
Gospel musician Bernard Amankwah, political satirist Barima Sidney and National Media Commission Chair, Kabral Blay-Amihere were present at the party.
