For now the only person who can call off the celebrities’ #DumsorMustStop Vigil is the ‘High priest’ also known as ‘Wulomo’ of the La traditional area.
His authority now matters a lot to the celebrities due to the Ga tradition termed “Dumo Nmaa” christened “Ban on drumming and noise making”.
Although some Ga areas are currently observing the custom that comes before the Homowo festival of the Ga people, La is yet to observe its custom.
However, organizers of the #DumsorMustStop have paid a curtesy call on the La Wulomo to finalize preparation ahead of Saturday, May 16 vigil because the event will be held on the La territory.
Leader of the vigil, Yvonne Nelson took to Facebook to confirm that event.
“With the LA Wulomo (high priest), its tomorrow guys, walk with us 4pm. We meeting on the bridge close to the old Legon gate and 'on the run,” she posted.
