If you are ‘sucker’ for pop culture and you think the separation/divorce of Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards, Johnny Depp and Amanda Heard as well as that of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were quite messy and became media gallery, then brace yourself for Ghana’s own – www.entertainmentgh.com can suggest.
Highlife artist, Kwabena Kwabena and his estranged wife, Abena Owusuaa are prepping themselves for a long ride for a tussle over custody of the kids, the house and the car.
Sources close to the separated couple have hinted www.entertainmentgh.com that, Abena is now living in a rented apartment in a suburb in Accra after being kicked out from the house she helped build with Kwabena Kwabena, who is said to be living in the house with his new woman, Frema Ashkar.
Abena has hired a reputable lawyer to help her fight for control of the house as well as total custody of their two (2) kids.
Wait, there’s more!
The sources also claim that Abena is also asking for the car being driven by Kwabena Kwabena – why? because the car belongs to her. She bought it herself and wants it back.
This portal has also got word that Abena has contracted one of the best legal luminaries in the country – Nana Asante Bediatuo, who is also the Executive Secretary for the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Nana Asante Bediatuo
Nana Asante Bediatuo started his legal career as an attorney at Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrrison, one of the most prestigious law firms on the iconic Wall Street in New York. After years of working 14 hours a day, he decided to take a leave of absence from Paul Weiss and took up a consultancy with the African Development Bank in Abidjan.
Lawyer Bediatuo has been involved in high-profile cases. He is noted for winning a number of high-profile cases which puts Abena Owusuaa in some ‘comfortable lead’ in her pending suit against Kwabena Kwabena.

Before the courts came how were our great grand parents marrying?? If you don't register your marriage in court it only means that your husband can marry other women in addition it doesn't mean you are not recognized. Customary marriage is recognized in Ghana, the wife has a case, Kwabena cannot just kick her out empty handed. She will get her share even if they have no kids.
please, the last writer should go and learn. For the marriage to be LEGAL in this country, it should be registered. Whether you are a Moslem, a traditional believer or Christian or whatever. The marriage is not registered and is not legal. It doesn't mean she cannot go to court though.
U are are dead wrong. Stop peddling falsehoods. The fact that they may not have gone to sign at the courts or whatever doesn't mean their marriage was null. Customary marriages are recognised by the laws of the land even common law "marriages" are accepted and equally effective. So she has a case and can pursue it to the latter if she so wishes. I can't believe u also didn't know this and u are here saying otherwise. Get your facts right before u mislead people.
He's now in public office, hence there's no way to continue private practice. MRS Kwabena, accept the fact that you've been ***barred word*** and move on! If you had involved Nana Bediatuo from the get-go you would've known that just the traditional and the wedding ceremony without signing at the registry made this union null and void. I'm shocked an educated woman such as yourself would not know this!
