Sarkodie has slammed the Akufo-Addo led government over its plan to build a new parliament, which will cost about $200m.
The new Parliamentary complex is expected to have a 450 sitting capacity, house facilities including diplomatic offices, a library, a museum, a church, a mosque, eateries, press conference rooms, galleries, a car park, an upper gallery garden, and a post office. The present chamber will be converted into a conference room, as confirmed by the architect, Sir David Adjaye.
Sarkodie who reacted to this, described it as a misplaced priority as Ghanaians are facing lots of challenges including bad roads. He also lamented that both NDC and NPP governments have failed the Ghanaian citizens.
“Politics and politicians will always be the same till the people change and become one putting this whole NDC NPP on the side and tackle issues together …If All these potholes on the motorway and other roads in Ghana causing accidents can be overlooked to raise 200mil for a chamber then yall know the kinda people we choose to be in power. Every project should target the betterment of the people first,” he wrote.

My friend stick to your music and stop that ***barred word***. Have you seen signed documents that the President has approved anything? Even parliament haven’t got the chance to debate the issue so why blame the President?
NANA ADDO NEVER READS ANY DOC. PRESENTED TO H IM, HE JUST APPROVES. HOW CAN YOU APPROVE SOMETHING LIKE THIS? WHEN SCHOOLS ARE DOING SHIFT?
Politics is the new word given to modern day slavery and oppression. Your comment is enough evidence to show that Ghanaians have become slaves to the politicians and they are being oppressed everyday with the disgusting lie that "power remains in their thumb". And these Ghanaians blindly follow them. Until Ghanaians wake up from their slumber and kick out all these Politicians, Ghanaians will continue to remain slaves to them.
I can see people taking populist stands...what do you mean by putting political parties aside and tackling issues together...Who are those called "together" are you saying you don't like democracy or what...I don't see how your solution is going to work...You can advocate for others you think can help the country to develop but to make such open ended statement tells me you just want your voice to be heard...I don't agree with the building of the new chamber and I rather wish we can advocate for the number of parliamentarians (275) to be reduced.
